My Indonesia Trip: Day 1 in Bandung

This is a lengthy post. Beware, your laptop or PC might lag a little bit, due to: this post contains a lot of pictures! Heh ;p



Hi girls!

Sorry for the sporadic updates! I'm just lazeeeyyyy and tired and got no mood. hihihi ;p

Anyway, while I was browsing through my old posts.. I realized, I did not publish my Indonesia Trip, yet???! Pffffft. I knowww last time I promised to update you guys here! And apparently, I just pressed the "Save Now" button instead of "Publish Post" button, and thus...it was saved as a "Draft" post! Gosh! How can I forgot and silap! =__='

Anyway... so here I am, publishing my Indonesia Trip on Day One, today! haha ;p

So it was my very first time going to our neighbour's land, that time. It was in June 2010. I've travelled to a few places before that - Europe, Australia, Middle East, Japan, etc etc.. so I never really wanted to go to Indonesia as I thought it's just a normal, boring country and..nothing much to see or do there.. And I thought that it's probably just gonna be something like Malaysia. Hee. So yeah, I didn't have any interest or excitement when dad told me that we're gonna go to Indonesia for a short holiday, that time.. Plus, before this, I heard so many (negative) stories about Indonesian people.. (which I don't know whether it's true or not..? - But now that I've been there, I know that it's not true at all!) And so somehow it has affected me and thought that it's true. So the 'narrow-minded' me back then thought it was not gonna be a good holiday  =_______________='

So I didn't expect anything.

But the moment when I touched down Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, everything changed!!!!

I don't know why I get so excited when I arrived there! Probably because the people there are very friendly and so warm.. and welcomed you! And then for some weird reason, it's because of the language that got me fell in love with the country even more! haha.. When I saw all the signage in Bahasa Melayu...I got excited even more! haha.. Because for the first time ever, being in a foreign country, but I can actually understand the language! So it's cool! Heh. (Normally the first thing I want to see when I touched down any country, is their signage/language at the airport. I love looking and reading at the language that they use at the country that I'm at.. I feel like I'm in another world. So yeah..) 

So anyway, that time I guess I was excited because I felt like I'm in another country, but speaks the same language as ours! -Duh? hehehe. - I felt like I'm at a different place, but yet the same! LOL ;p (Ye la, before this.. turun2 flight je, tengok bahasa French lah, Arabic lah, Swedish lah, Turkish la, Dutch la, etc etc! hihihi ;p)

So anyway.. We went to this Indonesia trip for 5 days. And dad decided to stay for 2 days in Bandung and 3 days in Jakarta. So on the first two days, we spent our days in Bandung first..

So just after we arrived Jakarta, we went straight to Bandung. It took us about 4-hour car ride!

Love the sceneries that we saw along the journey... The green was soooooo beautiful!!! (I couldn't get a proper photo though. It was hard to snap a photo in a moving car! tskk)

Tired. It was quite a long journey...in a not very comfortable ride. Heh ;p

Stopped by at their R&R centre. There's a lot of cafes/restaurants around here. 

And there's mosque too!

"Pedesnya bikin nangis!" hehe.. 

I smiled reading this, while reading it in Indonesian accent. I find the phrase kinda cute. hehe

Teh Botol is very famous here! It's nice..I love it!

This is Makanan Padang. They serve you a lot of lauk, and will only count the ones that you touched

After a good one hour at the R&R centre, we started to continue our journey to Bandung..

.....here we are after about 2 hour or so!

When I was in Bandung, I saw a lot of these vans..

They called this as Angkutan Kota, it's like a mini micro bus. hehe

Oh! And I also saw a lot of Toyota Innova there...but they called it as Kijang! hehe. Cute. 

We have Rusa and Kancil here. And they have Kijang there! ^___^

Arrived our hotel!

The first thing I saw was the spa treatment/packages available in the hotel! haha

After we have checked in to our hotel, and rest for awhile, took our bath and solat, etc.. It was time for shopping! - Bandung is famous for it's factory outlets, warehouse outlets and shopping paradise! ^_^

I was a millionaire! heheheh ;p

Since the number is big so it was kinda confusing to remember how much exactly the item's worth/value in Ringgit Malaysia. So I wrote down the exchange rate of their money. And it's basically, just "erase" the last triple zero. So 10, 000 Rupiah is just like their 10 bucks. (I think??) And so the value in Ringgit Malaysia would be about 3 ++ ringgit je! :)

There are a lot of factory outlets in here. They sell clothes mostly. You can find brands like Zara, MNG, Tommy Hilfiger,  La Senza, Marks & Spencer, Victoria's Secret, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Guess, Topman, Topshop, Armani Exchange, and so on! A lot! But oh well..mostly they are not really my taste and mostly from last seasons' items (Duh..of course la kan? Sale items..what do you expect. hihi ;p)

There are not that many for my kind of style for dressy tops. But they sure do have a lot of pretty t-shirts and winter coats there! Oh, and also for kids' clothes! All very pretty!

I bought t-shirts for home, a lot. And a lot of them are from Guess and Armani Exchange. Price? BLOODY CHEAP, I tell you! hehe.. One t-shirt just cost me about 100, 000 Rupiah only! And that's about RM 36++ more or less! Murah kan? hehe

Hell yeah! hehehe ;p

Had to purchase a luggage to put our purchases! haha

My mom loved this shop!

It's very famous in Bandung! It's called Klappertaart! (Comes from the word Kelapa Tart)

They sell such yummy delicacies! You should stop by at this shop if you ever go to Bandung!

Oh hey...there's Teh Kotak as well? hehe. Such cute brand laaa they gave their name! hehe.. First Teh Botol, then Teh Kotak? hehe

A small stall like this, selling Ice Cream Durian are everywhere here.. Didn't try though. I hate durian, just fyi.

Walking some more along the streets... They have a lot of shopping outlet along this road! Tak larat nak masuk satu-satu... Banyak bangat! Eh I mean sangat! hehe ;p

Later at night..when our tummy is grumbling, we stopped by at this restaurant called Wilujeng Sumping. They serve Sundanese food. And my Goddddd..... YOU HAVE TO STOP AT THIS RESTAURANT IF YOU WANNA MAKE YOUR TUMMY REALLY HAPPY AND SATISFIED! hehehehe. ;p 

Seriouslyyyyy....sedap gila! I don't know whether it was because we were extremely starving or what... Or the restaurant just simply have awesome food! ^__^

They have such nice deco too! Verry Indonesian! Love it!

You can pick which area you want to dine at.. Inside or outside, on the chair, on the floor..etc..

Makan dekat Indonesia memang sangat sangat mewah! Dah lah murah gila...and sangat sangat sedap!!!! Seriously, I reallllllyyy enjoy eating Indonesian food!

Lastly...we had this as our dessert. So gooood! I don't normally like bananas, fyi. But this one is different! They have chocolate in there, with some cheese and something else.. Very nice.  - I forgot now what do they called this dessert (I was there about 2 years ago already! Can't remember! hehe)

And later...we had a surprise for our dad since it was his birthday that day! hehe

Yeay...another dessert for the night! hehe
